Gear list For Peak Climbing & Trekking in Nepal
CLIMBING GEAR- Note: These are the climbng gears for most of the peaks of Nepal which are lower than 7500 meters above the sea level)
- 1 Pair plastic shell mountaineering boots with high altitude liners
- 1 Pair of crampons (steel, no aluminum)
- 1 Alpine climbing harness
- 1 Mountaineering axe with leash (sized properly for your height)
- 1 Ascender (a rope clamp for ascending and achoring to rope)
- 1 Belay device (for descending on your summit)
- 2 D-Shaped locking carabiners
- 2 Non-locking carabiners
- 1 Pair expedition style gaiters
- 1 Neck gaiter
- 1 High altitude glasses or goggles. Regular sunglasses are not adequate
- Climbing helmet
GENERAL- 1 cold weather sleep bag (we can provide one if you need it but is to be
- returned after the trek)
- 1 Duffel bag (we will provide one complimentary HHA duffel bag for you)
- 1 Daypack
- 1 Down Jacket (we can provide if you need one but is to be returned after
- the trek)
UPPER BODY - HEAD / EARS / EYES- Cap or hat
- Balaclava or beanie
- Headlamp. Please ensure you bring extra batteries, lithium batteries are
- insisted as they last in the cold temperatures
- Neck warmer (optional)
HAND- 1 thin pair of gloves
- 1 pair shell gloves or mitts; Gore-Tex is preferred for keeping hands dry
CORE BODY- T-shirts (2)
- Light and expedition weight thermal tops
- Fleece jacket or pullover
- Waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell jacket.
LOWER BODY – LEGS- 2 pairs nylon hiking shorts
- 4 underwear, stay away from cotton
- 1 pair thermals
- 1 pair soft shell pants
- 1 pairs trekking pants, preferably that zip on/off at the knees so they
- double as shorts
- 1 pair hard shell pants. Waterproof / breathable, Gore-Tex or equivalent is
- best
- 1 waterproof stuff sack (optional, it helps keep clothes dry)
FEET- 3 pairs heavy weight socks to be worn over liner socks.
- 2 pair light weight socks
- 1 pair hiking/trekking boots
- 1 sandles or thongs (optional)
- 1 pair hiking gaiters (optional).
MEDICINES AND FIRST AID KITS(Please note your guide will carry a first aid kit bag during your tour.
However, we still recommend you to bring your personal first aid items)
- Ibuprofen for general aches and pains
- Immodium for upset stomach or diarrhea
- Diamox (commonly prescribed as Acetazolamide) 125mg or 250mg tablets for
- altitude sickness. Please discuss using this with us
- 1 small personal sized first-aid kit with blister treatments such as
- band-aids, waterproof tape, anti-infection ointments, etc.
- Lip balm.
- Sunscreen
- Toiletry kit including toilet paper and liquid hand sanitizer, towel, soap,
- etc.
OTHER- 1 trekking poles (optional)
- Favorite snack foods and chocolates (optional)
- Paperback book, cards, mp3 player (there are a couple of stops where you
- can recharge (optional)
- Camera (optional)
