Managing Director and Co-Chief Mountaineer
Prakash grew up in a little village called Maidi in the Dhading region of Nepal, approximately 100 kms west of Kathmandu. The village which is difficult to reach and isolated from larger towns wakes up every morning to the full splendor of the Himalaya; the mighty Himalayas even looks down upon the village Maidi.
Growing up in Maidi, Prakash was exposed early on to trekkers and guides. A number of people in his village and region operated as porters and guides. This was how he first witnessed the impact Nepal has on tourists. He watched in inspired delight how guides in his community could speak to tourists in fluent English and the way the guides were able to share the beauty of Nepal with visitors. This inspired his dream ever since of owning and operating a mountain expedition company so he could one day share Nepal and her mountains with the outside world. After school, he completed a bachelor in Humanities and Social Science with an English Major before beginning his first Masters Degree in Kathmandu at Tribhuwan University. Along with his University, he applied for a Training of Tourist Guide in 2007 and officially started working in tourism from the same year. He then worked as a freelance guide for different tourism organizations for a year. During this time he trekked and travelled to many places in Nepal and witnessed his country from many different perspectives.
In 2008, Prakash joined a major trekking agency in Kathmandu, where he started working as a Correspondent cum Tour Leader for 4 years. At the same time, he was also volunteering as a relationship manager for Non-Profit Organization based in the Gorkha region, Nepal. During his time at the trekking agency in Kathmandu Prakash further explored his country by taking trekkers to many different locations. This proved Prakash to be experienced leader and significant social server.
Prakash never felt tired about exploring tourism of his country. He always advocates on the essentialness of proper education in tourism which inspired him to join for another Masters Degree in Travel and Tourism Management. He is now due to achieve his degree in few months time.
Evaluating all his experiences and achievements, Prakash has seen the benefit that tourism can be to developing communities, under privileged children and his country more broadly. His aim with HHA is to ensure tourism benefits flow into sustainable community development programs without the errors which he has found existing in other organizations. As a result he has implemented some amazing initiatives throughout Nepal in the education, health and community development projects.
Prakash now aims to implement 100% fairness in the tourism business. He assures you to provide high standard personalized services with his well equipped, well experienced crews."
