Trip Overview

An enchanting city nestled in a tranquil valley; Pokhara the starting point for many of Nepal’s most popular trekking and rafting destinations. The atmosphere on the shore of the Phewa Lake is serene as well as adventurous at the same time as hipster backpackers crowd the many bars and restaurants, and lodging by the numerous hotels and guest houses, both by the lake and above the clouds. Pokhara is a place of pristine natural beauty; the serenity of Phewa Lake and the magnanimity of the fishtail like summit of Machhapuchhre (6,977 m) rising behind it- it creates an ambience of sheer peace and magic. At an altitude lower than Kathmandu, it has a much more tropical feel to it, a fact well appreciated by the beautiful diversity of flowers which prosper in its environment. Indeed, the valley surrounding Pokhara is home to thick forests, gushing rivers, emerald lakes, and of course, the world famous views of the Himalayas, all worth a long visit, only possible through a trek.
The trek is ideal for people who wish to enjoy the panoramic view of the Annapurna range without the long trek. Pokhara valley trek is indeed a wonderful combination of beautiful lakes and spectacular peaks. The beautiful lakes of Phewa, Begnas and Rupa are perfect resorts for fishing and boating. The SetiGandaki (White River) and its tributaries have created several gorges and canyons in and around the whole city which gives intriguingly long sections of terrace features to the city and surrounding areas, the gorges including the Seti- Kaligandaki gorge, the largest in the world.  The climate of the city is sub-tropical; however the elevation keeps the temperatures moderate. The city of Pokhara offers both combination between nature and culture. The nearby hill villages around Pokhara have a mixed community of Khas and Gurung ethnicities that lets you experience the cultural and traditional livings of people.
Pokhara valley trekking promotes two major hilltops as its viewpoints to view the city and surrounding panorama, World Peace Pagoda built in 1996 across the southern shore of Phewa lake and Sarangkot which is located northwest of the city. In February 2004, International Mountain Museum (IMM) was opened for public to boost city’s tourism attractions. Other museums in the city are Pokhara Regional Museum, an ethnographic museum, Annapurna Natural History Museum which houses preserved specimens of flora and fauna, and contains particularly extensive collection of the butterflies, found in the western and ACAP region of Nepal; and Gorkha Museum featuring history of the Gorkha Soldiers. David’s fall, Mahendra Cave, Bindavasini Temple etc are some places worth to visit for more excitement.
Pokhara is the place having simple natural scenery that affects you at the very first glance. Pokhara valley tour can be considered as the voyage of natural wonders and complete relaxation.
