It would be great if you are able to reach Nagarkot in Sunrise time and enjoying sunrise and mountain view, we start hiking to Dhulikhel. Hiking from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel is mostly down hill. If one wants trek from Dhulikhel to Nagarkot, it is also possible. Doing this trek, we recommend taking packed lunch along or some snacks and few bottles of water as there are very limited options of teahouses or restaurants. Once we finish sunrise view and mountain view, we proceed our trek which cuts across the hillside and takes you towards Rhonnie Bhangyang. The views of the Panckhal valley and around to your left are very good, and given clear weather you should again get memorable views of the mid Himalaya including Mt.Everest. The five hours trek offers you the experience walking through forest, villages, steps. We pass two valleys of Kankre and Tanchok.
From Tanchok, you will meet another main jeep track that you need to follow to your right and uphill for around a kilometer to Tusal. Here you need to head again right to the larsish town of Opi where you cross the main jeep track and head directly to Dhulikhel. The trail meets the Araniko Highway 1 km from the main town of Dhulikhel, at Himalayan Horizons Hotel. To get into town you need to turn right and head uphill. Then having lunch can come back to Kathmandu. You can also end Nagarkot day hike at Nala or Banepa to make it 1 hour shorter.
