Trekking in Nepal: Short & Easy Treks

Langtang is one of the most exquisite places to visit in Nepal. Also known as the valley of glaciers, Langtang is famous for its icy glaciers that glide across the snowy mountains that surrounds the valley. Langtang is not as far as one expects as it is located in North of Kathmandu valley, the capital city of Nepal. A respite from the usual commotion of the city, a visit to Langtang promises to bring peace and tranquility in the minds of the trekkers. As described by BilTilman as the most beautiful valley in the world, Langtang offers its natural wonders in its trails: the rugged rock and snowcapped mountains, grassy down meadows, the all so grand pine forest, and the beautiful scenery that this valley gives along the way is something to anticipate when in Nepal.

The journey begins from Kathmandu with a 7-8 hours long drive to Syabrubensi followed by hiking through the dense oak forest which finally leads to an alpine meadow. Here one can feed their eyes with spectacular views of the forest of oak, birch, pine filled with wild flowers and rare orchids coupled up with a diverse range of wildlife including animals like red pandas, wild boar, langur-monkey and many species of birds. The land is surely filled with the cry of the wild and definitely gives the trekker a chance to snap some pics to capture its beauty.

Established as the fourth National Park in general and as the first Himalayan National Park of Nepal, the Langtang National park, resides in this beautiful valley. This small patch of land area inhibits a diverse range of floral and faunal species that can keep the minds of the nature loving captivated to its beauty. The national park can be reached from Gosaikunda pass, just 4,610 meters or by Ganja La pass, just 5,122 meters. If one does not mind walking a stretch of beautiful landscapes to view the natural wonder that awaits, a couple of thousands of hike is worth the travel.
